Yet, it still set the bar for wedding venues in Southern California. Sure there may be places that are nicer, but not by much. The level of service, the food, the scenery, the possibilities are endless at this venue.
If you are a Ritz Carlton type of bride then there really is no other way around the fact that if you host your wedding elsewhere you won't be happy. If you really aren't a Ritz Carlton type of bride than there are hundreds of other places to host your wedding that will do for a lot less.
The potential is very high, but not unlimited. The main problem is the big selling point for place is a perfect looking day over the ocean. On a warm, sunny day this place is perfect and can easily remind you of places like Maui. On a drab, overcast day this place doesn't shine as well. Yes, there are plenty of places that you can go to take incredible pictures at this venue, but the big show is the perfect looking beach. Unfortunately if this doesn't happen then their is something missing. Its almost worth hosting a wedding on a week day in August if you need to in order to ensure a perfect day.
Multiple weddings can occur at the same time and this place has a lot of people hanging around at all times. This place also turns out a lot of weddings in a day. If you have a day reception they want you to clear out of the room quickly as they turn it over for another reception that evening. As is true with many of the large beach venues, this place can be a bit of a wedding factory.
The Ritz Carlton Chain has a standard of Excellence that cannot be beat. The attention to detail in every aspect of the property, service, food, is very impressive. This place really is for me the gold standard in which I rate other venues. This venue sells itself, and either you are the type of person who needs to have your wedding here, or it doesn't matter to you. If it's important to you, then make the investment to host your wedding here.
