Located in Fullerton, Summit House Restaurant was designed as an English Country Manor with decor that features carved high beam ceilings, quaint fireplaces and floor to ceiling windows. The Grand Summit Ballroom also offers a spectacular view of Orange County and the San Bernardino mountains from any angle as well as adjoining patios and a beautiful park setting. Adjacent to the Grand Summit Ballroom in Vista Park is an outside terraced gazebo which is available for beautiful ceremonies and those PERFECT pictures.
Summit House banquet facilities can accommodate receptions up to 250 guests.
In North Orange County The Summit House ranks as one of the most popular wedding venues. They have been doing weddings exceptionally well for many years. Set next to a lovely city park it is easily mistaken that the park is part of the property of the Summit House The standard game plan is to host the weddings at this gazebo, then retreat back to the Grand Summit Ballroom for the reception. Of course if you get married elsewhere you would head straight for the ballroom.
The food is great, the staff keeps on top of things to such precision that really there isn't much that goes wrong Thus the Summit House is an easy place to host your wedding. Book quickly because the reservation list often spans years for key dates.
Outside, the grounds of the restaurant are
beautiful. There
is a large gazebo
located right next to the restaurant, which is actually a part of
the city park that butts up against The Summit House.
This gives the
impression that
The Summit House has large, spacious grounds.
The gazebo is a wonderful spot for an outdoor wedding.
It’s an ideal site for
a garden style wedding that
can accommodate 150 guests.
Even if you hold your wedding ceremony at another location
that grounds provide a perfect backdrop for photos.
The large grass areas, with ample shade provided by the tall
trees creates a
green, plush oasis in the heart of
The Grand Ballroom comfortably holds around 150-200 guests. We’ve been in it where they have packed in more guests and the seating does get a little tight. Seeing that 150 guests is around the typical wedding guest list size we see, it’s once again an ideal location for an average sized wedding. The interior has floor to ceiling windows on one wall, not bay windows, more like French door window that provides plenty of light. Whoever designed the place knew what they were doing as the windows aren’t very close to the dance floor. This helps reduce glass glare from flash reflection, and more importantly, doesn’t provide a large black wall next to the dance floor.
The Summit House sits up on a hill. The wall with the window provides a dramatic panoramic view of the city lights below. With a bright white interior the lights are gradually dimmed in the evening to give your guests the impressive view of the city lights while having dinner.
Again, they have weddings down to a science at the Summit House. If they've had any major issues, they figured them out by now and have fixed them. Thus, the only downside to this place is that it books super fast. If you want to hold your wedding reception at the Summit House you may have to opt for a Friday or Sunday wedding date, or a Saturday day wedding. If you want the coveted Saturday night wedding, either plan well in advance, or be prepared to move quickly on a cancellation.
Well, the food is excellent.
There is plenty of free parking though it may be confusing
for first timers who think that they must valet park.
The staff is very accommodating to their guests and
vendors. It really does
have a lot of very positive things going for it.
You must keep in mind that it is a restaurant,
yet it’s not a restaurant that closes down for special
events. While a
wedding occurs they are open for business.
We’ve never seen any problems with people crashing weddings,
though it wouldn’t be that hard to do as the main ballroom shares a
set of restrooms with the restaurant.
The restrooms are right next to the main ballroom.
Since it’s a city park the Summit House really can’t control
who shows up. Again,
we’ve never seen a problem with this, but you can never be certain
that visitors could hang
around and gawk at your wedding ceremony.
Another thing is that the vendor referral list they provide
could be better.
Chances are you will do better finding vendors on your own.
The Summit House is a popular location, and many vendors in
the area who are established have been to it.
On a Saturday they run two weddings a day.
Thus you may not be able to show up and get ready there as
early as you like, or you
may have to leave by a certain time to accommodate the next
wedding. Yet, if you can book your wedding at The Summit
House, consider yourself lucky.
It’s one of the nicer wedding locations in
The Summit House is near Coyote Hills Country Club and Embassy Suites in Brea.
