What you wished you knew now!

Day of event wedding photography packages are perhaps the easiest packages to understand because it boils down everything to a price of photography per hour.  If you check out ten studios you can make a grid and figure out who has the lowest price per hour.  The guy with the lowest price wins, right?  If this is true, you are on the fast track to lackluster wedding photography.    You want better, and frankly you deserve better. Bride alone

"If your pictures don't come out good from your wedding day, it doesn't matter how cheap or free the wedding photography was, it will be something you regret the rest of your life"

We've mentioned our multi continental award winning wedding photography elsewhere on the site, it just shows that you will get better photography than the hacks with super low pricing.   If your pictures don't come out good from your wedding day, it doesn't matter how cheap or free the wedding photography was, it will be something you regret the rest of your life.   Aside from our award wining style we have years of experience to handle anything your day throws at us with ease.  We are insured which is important because now more than ever  churches and wedding reception sites aren't allowing vendors who aren't insured onto their property.   Sometimes they get around this by spelling out in the contract that YOU are responsible for any damage.  If your photographer breaks one of those $5000 plate glass bay windows, guess who's on the hook for it?

This is Super Important!

This is super important.   No photographer can shoot a perfect wedding.   Throughout your day you will go indoor and outdoor and have lighting scenarios  each with it's own separate challenge.   Yet, most of the people who who cut you the low prices on wedding photography will tell you that they can give you a great images straight out of their camera.   In reality this is what you are going to see.  Exposures that are rarely perfect, thBride and Groomey will be perhaps a bit too dark or too light.   You're going to have photos where the faces are too dark (outside) because most of the flashes by the camera manufactures are too weak to throw enough light in broad daylight.  You can fix this to some extent, if you had the right tools.  Another problem you will see is color balance issues.  Your white wedding dress tints  blue in open shade, the ambient light from the church turns everything yellow, same at the reception.  There is nothing wrong with the photographer, or the camera, this is just what happens in these scenarios.  These things cannot be avoided but they can be adjusted after the fact.   One last thing to consider is that many photographers are reliant on flashes that are made from the manufacture that made their camera body. For the most part they do an okay job, though they are fairly weak flashes.  They have sophisticated electronics inside of them that takes a lot of the guess work out of using a flash.   The only problem is that they give very harsh lighting and thus lighting modifiers are attached to these flashes to give more pleasant lighting.  The only problem is that these modifiers further weaken an already weak flash.   To make up for the fact that their flash has gotten weaker, they turn on the ISO.of the camera.  The end result is that you have images that start to look fuzzy if you blow them up larger than an 8x10.  You will notice a fair amount of noise in the images.  And worse yet, something called color cross over can occur, which means that things that should look black can start turning blue.  You'll see annoying tints in your images.  .

What you will hear from other photographers.....

Keeping all of this in mind, there are photographs who tell you that what comes right out of their camera is going to be wonderful, no need to fix it.  Really?   The low cost leader in wedding photography isn't really worried about your needs once they give you a DVD.  They are onto the next job.  They can justify anything they do by claiming that they are cutting you a good deal.

What's really common is that photographers show you work on their website that has been heavily modified in Photoshop.  They show work to make you believe that they are nearly perfect photographer, and then, in the end give you images that are not ready to print.  They fail to meet expectations because what they show and what they give are two very different things.  To make things even worse, your computer monitor most likely hasn't been profiled and thus what you see on your monitor and what  ultimately prints out can be worlds apart.   You can, in a processes of trial and error try and fix key images yourself.  And, the one hour color lab you use can have colors that fluctuate day by day.

Corrected, Categorized, Organized Images.  Photography worth the money!

With our Afterglow Packages, we aren't the low price leader. In fact you won't have to search very hard to find someone who will show up to your wedding for considerably less than we do.  If price is the only thing that is important to you, you won't have a problem finding someone with a camera to show up to your wedding for less than we charge.   But, what we warn you about isn't a smooth sales pitch, it's years and years of experience, and thousands of hours behind the computer looking at images.

RingWhat you will get with us is first and foremost, a no-haggling best price.  The prices we feature for the Afterglow packages are set in stone.  That means the next bride  who comes along won't be getting the same package you're getting for less because her wedding is on Friday or Sunday. We charge more not only because we're worth it, but because we end up spending a heck of a lot more time and effort in both your wedding photography and post production.  Upfront you may be wanting to follow your inclination to sign up with the low price leader, but in the end you will be so much happier that you spent extra because you find wedding photography to be important.

We have the guts to tell you that every image we take isn't ready to roll out of camera onto your DVD.   Some of them need to be edited out.  Then they are color balanced, categorized, adjusted, and organized.   With our organizational system, you will be able to find images quickly.   Though we cannot promise that every image we will give you will make a perfect print every time, you will be a lot closer to your goal than if we gave you files that came right out of our camera.   In the past few years we've given out in excess of 100 high resolution DVDs to clients, and thus far nobody has written back to tell they were unhappy with the resulting images they've printed.   If you are looking for perfection, we do have professional color labs that can print your files to a better quality than you would expect from your one hour labs.
