We like to be careful when talking about
photographic equipment because skill, experience, and abilities do
far more to make great images than gizmos and gadgets. Since many
photographers love to talk and talk about their equipment we can
assure you that we won't bore you with the details. We started off
using very expensive, large, and cumbersome film cameras because we
wanted to make the very best images possible. This was the gold
standard for imaging, and when we
transitioned over to digital, we would not lower our standards.
If anything, the need for good equipment became more important because our wedding albums got larger and images in these albums went from 8”x10” to 16”x24”. Buying good equipment is the first step, using it well is the second step. We have a lot of experience with the equipment, and constantly push the boundaries of it's capabilities.
When you come over to meet with us, you will see images in albums which are huge. Sometimes you will be looking point blank at images that are 16x24 inches large in albums. The level of clarity and sharpness are of utmost importance to us, and thus we shoot, process, and give the highest resolution images possible. You will be free to make HUGE prints from these images, and see your images with crystal clear clarity, sharpness and resolution.
Afterglow
For a moment, imagine your wedding is over, and you have your DVD of images. In fact, the guy who shot your wedding burned you a DVD of all your wedding images in the parking lot of your reception site. Now, you have this DVD and you want to make prints. There are hundreds and hundreds of images he created,
somewhere in there are the pictures of your family, mixed in between images of your reception and ceremony. Every time you need to look for these images it's a major search and rescue mission just to find the exact images you are looking for. Worse yet, the bad images are mixed in with the good images. Many of the images are dark, or have less than wonderful colors. You waste a lot of time, effort and money trying to print
images that had problems to start with. The first
thing you need to know, we won't burn images of your wedding in the
parking lot of your reception on our laptop computers. We instead
take the images back and refine them. The first thing we do is edit
the
images.
The less than spectacular images are edited out. The remaining
images are then put into their proper categories in order to help
you find the images you are looking for quickly. The last thing we
do is color correct the images and lighten and darken as needed.
Though we cannot promise that the final print will be perfect each
and every time you make a print, we can assure you that you will be
light years ahead of what they would have looked like if we simply
pulled the images out of the camera and made you a quick DVD.
The Afterglow day of wedding coverage makes a lot of
sense because, let's face it, wedding albums aren't cheap. We
understand that the economy, the tightening credit policies, and
other factors have an influence on many bridal couples. Our thinking
is simple, get the best coverage you can afford right now, and worry
about the next phase when you are better able to afford it. But what
about the wedding album? What happens if you love your photography
and (like what happens so often after a wedding) you are in a better
financial position to buy a nice album? Many people realized that if
they don't handle the album soon after theirwedding, the possibility
of it ever getting done decreases over time.
If you would like to obtain an album, you will get a discount
compared to people who didn’t have their wedding photographed by
Lifetime Images. People who buy our normal album packages are given
the option of obtaining their high resolution images right after
their wedding for $500. Since with the Afterglow option of
coverage you will also get your high resolution images right away,
you can upgrade to any of our album packages for the same price as
if you originally bought the package, the high resolution DVD, and a
second photographer (if your coverage had this). It works out the
same either way you decide to go. Album packages go up over time, so
please consider doing this as close to the wedding as possible.
